Taftan is an off-network messenger. The app does not contact any external server, requires no account registration, collects no usage data and includes no analytics component.
This website is statically rendered. No first-party tracking cookies are set, no third-party analytics scripts run, and no externally hosted scripts are served. The only state stored on your device is the language preference saved when you switch locales.
If you write to us by email, your message is stored in our inbox. It will not be passed to any marketing system, not shared with third parties, and deleted on request.
The Android and iOS apps request microphone and camera permissions because those interfaces are required for the acoustic and optical channels respectively. The permissions are used exclusively for their stated purpose.
If a future release includes optional crash reporting, you will be informed at first launch and the setting will be available in the app settings screen.
